When my good friends were getting married, they came to me with a unique request. They wanted a custom poster in the same style as some concert posters I'd done. Their idea was to incorporate things that represented where they were from and where they lived. I made a quick sketch on a napkin for them and they were sold. The challenge was to cram Northern California, Colorado and Minnesota all into one seamless illustration. The result is a five color design with a winding road that sews the different landscapes together. The cars are both representative of the places they're from but also their personalities. It was fun to play with scale and perspective in this one.
After seeing the final product, the couple requested a drinks menu for the bar. This gave me the chance to pull the Colorado sign into focus and tie in the theme with more fun illustrations.
